Guide to Life Coaching
What Should I Look for in a Life Coach?
There is no one-regulatory body to professional standards and ethics, which makes it difficult to judge the qualifications and expertise of a coach. You will therefore have to rely on your own judgement and be smart. You will rarely be wrong in my view.
Most coaches have a website and you should read what they have to say and listen to what your heart and mind tell you. You need to choose someone who you think will understand the issues you face and who doesn’t promise the moon and a ‘quick fix’.
Most of my clients find me through personal recommendation or via my website, then call me to talk through what they are looking for and arrange a coaching session. This usually gives them enough confidence to know they have a found a qualified and experienced life coach they can trust and work with.
