About Me
I have 30 years personal and professional development experience and hold qualifications in social work, performance management, life coaching (with distinction), retirement coaching, N.L.P. (Neuro Linguistic Programming) - masters, and E.F.T. (Emotional Freedon Techniques).
My training as a social work professional, life coach, and N.L.P. practitioner blends with my professional experience in social services and personal experience of loss and change to enable me to offer clients many perspectives and a unique and effecitive service.
I have a passion for helping people transform their lives and have helped people from all backgrounds and walks of life to make new beginnings. I have been at the cutting edge of transforming the way social care is delivered, empowering disabled and vulnerable people to take control of their own lives. As a carer supporting elderly, disabled parents my work has led to radio and tv appearances.
I was divorced after 32 years of marriage and my (ex)husband died a year later. I lost my home, and my beloved grand daughters moved to another part of the country. My father, who cares for my disabled mother lost his sight. When the organisationI worked for downsized, I found myself looking for other employment. I became unfit and overweight and generally led an unhealthy lifestyle.
Life transitions, I have been through most life transitions, however, I found that as I got to know myself better, I was able to find the opportunites lurking behind the challenges. I realised it is often the most difficult periods in your life that provide the greatest gifts and I came to understand that we find happiness, not in the events that happen to us, but in the way we respond to them.
